New Horizon Community Theatre
proudly presents our 23rd Season
for 2007 - 2008

The timeless fairy tale meets the magic of Disney in this adaptation of the treasured animated film. Poor Cinderella is endlessly mistreated by her wicked stepmother and stepsisters, and she's denied a chance to go to the Royal Ball. With a little help from her mice friends, and a lot of help from her Fairy Godmother, Cinderella goes to the ball, meets the Prince, and falls in love! With a beautiful score including *A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes* and the classic *Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo,* this musical will charm its way into your heart, and remind you that dreams really can come true.

August 2007, Langdale Auditorium

This "A Christmas Carol" goes beyond other adaptations with a unique dramatic concept: At the opening curtain, Charles Dickens himself is introduced to the audience, ready to present one of the famed platform readings of his stories that packed auditoriums in Europe and America. Of course, the story chosen is one which he often performed, "A Christmas Carol". The story unfolds behind him, and soon Dickens is weaving in and out of the action, observing, performing small roles, interpolating short passages of rich narrative never heard in other versions. The perfect Christmas present!

Joseph Kesselring's charming slapstick comedy, "Arsenic and Old Lace" has been classic community theater fare for decades. We meet the charming and innocent ladies who populate their cellar with the remains of socially and religiously "acceptable" roomers; the antics of their brother who thinks he is Teddy Roosevelt; and the activities of the other brother and his friend Doctor Einstein who arrive unannounced at exactly the wrong time. "ARSENIC AND OLD LACE" is a must see - a ready-made comedy hit.

This is the 1950's rock 'n' roll musical. Rydell High's spirited class of '59; gum chewing, hubcap stealing, hot rod loving boys with D.A.'s and their wise cracking girls in bobby sox and pedal pushers---capture the look and sound of the 1950s in a rollicking musical. While hip Danny Zuko and wholesome Sandy Dumbrowski resolve the problems of their mutual attraction, the gang sings and dances its way through such nostalgic scenes as the pajama party, the prom, the burger palace, and the drive in movie. Songs recall the Buddy Holly hiccups, the Little Richard yodels and the Elvis Presley wiggles that made the music of the 50's a gas.
